AMERICAN CORNHOLE ASSOCIATION® FORMS A MEANINGFUL PARTNERSHIP WITH SPECIAL OLYMPICS OF NORTH AMERICA

Along with the Special Olympics of North America, American Cornhole Association aims to grow the sport of cornhole by making it more inclusive and accessible for everyone

To affirm its commitment to making the sport of cornhole accessible to all – including those with physical and mental disabilities – the American Cornhole Association® (ACA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Special Olympics of North America. Through this partnership, Special Olympics programs across North America will have the full support of the ACA as well as the opportunity to purchase official cornhole equipment at discounted rates from the official ACA cornhole store.

“Based upon interest from a number of SONA Programs that have been offering Cornhole, we are excited to form a partnership with ACA to continue developing the sport and to expand Cornhole to other parts of the SONA Region and Special Olympics as a whole,” said Craig Pippert of Special Olympics of North America.

And as the original and official governing body of cornhole, the ACA will also be working closely with the Special Olympics on adapting unique cornhole rules for use in the Special Olympics. “We (The American Cornhole Association) are very excited and honored to partner with the Special Olympics. It is our pleasure to help establish a set of rules that allow their members to find success and enjoyment in the great sport of cornhole,” said Eric Marvin of the ACA. “Cornhole is a game for everyone, and we are committed to continuing the growth of the sport with the Special Olympics.”

By maintaining, upholding, and providing rules and regulations for all players and offering standards compliant cornhole games and gear that can help new and experienced players develop their skills, ACA is fulfilling its goal of growing the popularity and accessibility of cornhole as a sport.

On the other hand, the mission of Special Olympics is to “provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.”

This newly formed partnership between ACA and Special Olympics allows a unique opportunity for both organizations to manifest their values of sportsmanship, accessibility, inclusion, and courage.
